🏐 Meet Our New JV Coach – Johanna Daggett! 💙💛

We're excited to welcome Johanna Daggett to the McKay Volleyball family as our Junior Varsity Coach for the 2026–2027 season!

Johanna has been passionate about volleyball since 4th grade, competing through club volleyball in Oak Harbor, Washington. She brings years of playing experience, a love for the game, and an energy that's contagious both on and off the court.

When she's not in the gym, Johanna is studying Public Health at Western Oregon University, exploring new places, making memories with friends, and always up for a good adventure. She believes volleyball is about more than wins—it's about building confidence, creating lasting friendships, and helping athletes become the best version of themselves.

She can't wait to get in the gym, work hard, have fun, and help our Lady Scots grow this season!

The Salem Sports and Breakfast Club Les Schwab Athlete of the Week, from McKay Track and Field, is Maylee Self.

The following was provided by Coach Matt Ingalls:

At the season opener against McNary and North Salem she improved more than 30 feet across three throwing events. She was the top scorer for McKay, taking 1st in the shot, 2nd in the javelin, and 4th in the discus. Her shot put of 31’6” was a nearly two foot improvement and is a mark that would have qualified for state last year.

Maylee is also an excellent teammate -encouraging - and a great teacher of those less experienced. She’s heavily involved in multiple leadership organizations throughout the school. And if all that weren’t enough, she’s only a sophomore.
