Congratulations Professor Philippa Otto.
Congratulations to Philippa Otto (MA TESOL 2017) , who has had an article based on her MA thesis accepted to the journal English for Specific Purposes: "Choosing Specialized Vocabulary to Teach with Data-Driven Learning: An Example from Civil Engineering." Pippa has been keeping busy with more than writing since graduating - her son will be 2 before long, and she's been teaching courses for Corban University, including special-topics vocabulary electives in STEM English, Academic English, and English in the News.

Big thank you to Korwa and Pemare for joining a group call with some of our new Corban students in Papua last week! The group shared how it was so meaningful to hear about their experiences and perspectives as they hope to come to Corban's campus once they are able to travel!

This term, tutors are teaming together to create Cultural Conversation Calls for students to engage in. Once a week a group of students meets with two Corban tutors to discuss cultural topics both in the U.S. and in Papua. Some topics may include food, weather, holidays, college life, time, friendships, interacting in class, etc. These group calls give all participants a chance to learn about a new culture and find similarities between cultures as well!
