Masons Cove Families,

Please review the important information below regarding changes to our student meal account system.

As you may recall, Masons Cove Elementary no longer qualifies for the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), which previously allowed all MCE students to receive free breakfast and lunch. Families who may qualify for free or reduced-price meals are encouraged to complete an application through the link below.

New Online Partner:

* RCPS has transitioned to School Café as our new online partner for meal account management School Café includes online free/reduced-priced meal applications, online payment processing, and menu access.
*Families can create a free account to track spending, set purchase restrictions, and monitor their meal application status. No account is needed to view menus or apply for free/reduced-priced meals.
*Online payments have a processing fee of $2.25 per transaction. *The minimum payment amount is $10.00 and the maximum amount is $100.00.
*Menus will be posted by August 5 and will include nutrition information and allergens.
Postcards have been mailed to all families. Additional communication will be sent through email notifications and Parent Link, starting today.
*LINQ is no longer in use, but all balances were carried over to School Café .

Free/Reduced Meal Applications (for non-CEP schools):

Online applications are available through School Café and are processed throughout the day. This is the fastest and simplest method for parents to apply for free and reduced meal benefits.

Adult Meals:

We welcome adult customers and family members of students in our service lines. Here are some reminders for adult meals that may be shared:

Payment for an adult meal is due at the time of meal service.
Adults may pay with cash or check in the cafeteria.
We have a limited change fund in cafeterias. Please consider bringing small bills or placing change on a meal account for future use in the cafeteria.
Student accounts may never be used to pay for an adult meal, per federal and state guidelines. Visitors should bring separate payment for their meals.

$1.85 student
$2.95 adult

Lunch:
$3.35 student
$5.05 adult

Milk:
$0.50

All Preschool and Kindergarten students must have a school entrance physical prior to the first day of school. Preschoolers must have an updated physical each year. If the child had a physical or well check within 12 months of August 13th, their HCP (health care provider) should be able to complete the form. If they have not had a physical in the last 12 months and are not able to get an appointment in time, physicals and immunizations are available at the following:

We are roughly 23 days from the start of the 2026-2027 School Year!

MCE Families,

We are looking forward to another great school year at Masons Cove Elementary! We will have several new faces around our school this year, and we wanted to share some exciting updates for the 2026–2027 school year.

For the first time, Masons Cove Elementary will have an assistant principal! Mrs. Erika Motley will be at Masons Cove 2–3 days each week. Mrs. Motley is the shared assistant principal between Back Creek Elementary and Masons Cove Elementary.

You'll hear a new voice on the phone and see a new friendly face in the main office. Ms. Heather Edmondson will be our front office bookkeeper and secretary.

We are excited to welcome Mrs. Allison Damiano as our new school nurse. We know she will be a wonderful addition to our school family and a caring resource for our students, staff, and families.

Our school will also be adding an additional classroom this year. This year marks an exciting milestone as Masons Cove Elementary welcomes a Roanoke Elementary Autism Program (REAP) class. We are honored to expand our ability to serve students while continuing to grow as an inclusive and collaborative school community.
