Senior Night for Girls Varsity Soccer was filled with celebration, gifts, and memories! Throughout the season, these athletes inspired younger players, encouraged teammates, celebrated exciting victories, and learned to persevere through challenging moments.

The lessons learned through athletics extend far beyond the soccer field. Communication, leadership, resilience, accountability, and the ability to respond to both success and setbacks are skills that will serve these students well as they graduate and take on new challenges.

We are proud of these senior players for their commitment to their sport and good sportsmanship. We can’t wait to see where your hard work and determination take you next! 💜⚽

Salem students spent the day at SUNY Cobleskill for Cobleskill High School Day, exploring career pathways and gaining hands-on experience!

Students toured the Meat Processing Lab, Dairy Processing Center, Equine Center, and Canine Kennels, learning about the degree programs and careers connected to each. They also put their skills to the test in the Wildlife Identification, Business Trivia Blast, and Meat Processing Lab contests.

Opportunities like this help students connect their interests and skills to real-world careers while giving them a better understanding of the education and experiences needed to reach their goals.

The day ended with a visit to the herpetology lab and some hands-on time with snakes! Thank you, SUNY Cobleskill, for a great opportunity to learn, explore, and think about the future!

Salem’s incoming and current 9th-grade students and their parents/guardians are invited to a special 9th-Grade Information Night on October 16 at 6 p.m. !

This evening will provide an opportunity to learn more about the high school experience, including the academic programs and opportunities available at Salem, graduation requirements, and extracurricular activities. Our counselors will be available to help students set meaningful goals and make the most of their Salem experience.

The Varsity Golf team celebrated its seniors last week during Senior Night! Our senior student-athletes have grown tremendously both in the classroom and on the course. Through their dedication to golf, they have demonstrated the skills of teamwork, leadership, and good sportsmanship, lessons that will extend far beyond the fairway.

Unified Bocce is back in session! Each practice gives students the chance to develop body control, emotional regulation, communication, and social skills, all while representing their school, enjoying friendly competition, and demonstrating the importance of sportsmanship.

More than just a game, Unified sports creates a supportive environment where students with and without disabilities can connect, build friendships, and enjoy being part of a team. Since students are often in separate classes throughout the school day, Unified sports provide valuable opportunities to come together, build connections, and have fun.

We are proud to celebrate the Cambridge/Salem Varsity Soccer team as this week’s Times Union Team of the Week, and we couldn’t agree more! These boys shine on the field, but what makes this team truly special is the way they carry the lessons, teamwork, and friendships they have built through soccer into the classroom and beyond.

The team earned finalist recognition after an incredible week on the pitch, picking up three wins: 3-2 over Waterford-Halfmoon, 4-2 over Berlin/New Lebanon, and 4-1 over Corinth. Congratulations to the players, coaches, and fans on this well-deserved recognition! ⚽💜💛

The high school drama club held auditions for this year’s musical, Mamma Mia! Students bravely stepped into the spotlight before our directing team, showcasing their talents in singing, acting, and performance.

Save the date! The high school drama club will present Mamma Mia! on December 4, 5, and 6. All members of our community are welcome to join us!

Experiences like drama club allow students to develop confidence, as well as communication, creativity, and collaboration skills. We are grateful for our directing team and proud of every student who auditioned and will share their talents with the community! 🎭🎶
