Today, we celebrate Mr. Wright, Ms. Kathy, and Mr. Eric and thank them for everything they do to make Southeast a clean, safe, welcoming, and happy place to be.
☀️ Mr. Wright is with us throughout the school day, always ready to jump in and help. Whether he’s cleaning up a mess, making sure something is working properly, or simply making a student smile, Mr. Wright is always there when we need him. And if you know Mr. Wright, you know you can always count on a little Twist fun! 😂
🌙 Ms. Kathy and Mr. Eric are our evening superstars! They keep Southeast shining after a full day of learning, games, practices, and activities. They come in after the messes are made and somehow make our classrooms, hallways, and entire building look brand new again! ✨
❤️🖤 Happy National Custodians Day! We appreciate you more than you know! 🖤❤️

🌟 Club Day at Southeast Elementary! 🌟

Club Day is always a great day at Southeast! Our students get the chance to learn, connect, create, and have fun while making our school community a little better. ❤️🖤

During Club Day, students:
✨ Participate in their club meeting or activity
💬 Take part in an SEL lesson with Mr. Paulini
🏆 Enjoy time for a PBIS incentive or catch up on missing assignments

During September’s SEL grade-level meetings, students focused on building a better school community and strengthening their sense of belonging. Mr. Paulini challenged students to be “illuminators” or people who brighten the lives of others through active listening, thoughtful questions, and making others feel seen and heard. 💡

And there are SO many ways for our students to get involved! Some of our clubs include Student Council, Service Learning, STEM, Card Club, Craft Club, and many others. 🎨🃏🔬🤝

We’re learning that small choices can make a big difference. When we listen, include others, lend a hand, and help someone feel like they belong, we are truly Leaving It Better!

⚡️ When the power goes out… you make your own fun! 😎☀️

This afternoon, we took advantage of an unexpected power outage and headed outside for a little playground fun! 🛝🛝

Sometimes it’s the small things—fresh air, sunshine, laughter, and a little extra time to just be kids—that make the best memories. ❤️

Who needs electricity when you’ve got a playground full of smiles?! 😄

🌲 5th Grade at Camp Frederick! 🌲

Our 5th graders had an awesome day at Camp Frederick filled with teamwork, laughter, and new experiences! 💪🏼❤️

Students worked together through team-building activities, got to know their classmates, discovered their own strengths, and learned that sometimes the best way to accomplish a goal is to work together!

And of course, our new best friend, Hamela 🐷, even joined us for a little lunch fun! 😂

A big THANK YOU to Camp Frederick for giving our students such a great day of learning, growing, and making memories together! 🌲⭐

📣 ATTENTION SOUTHEAST FAMILIES! 📣
We are looking for parents who would like to get involved with our PTO and help make some fun and memorable experiences for our students! ❤️🖤
We have several events throughout the school year that could use parent volunteers, including:
🍿 Popcorn Day – every other week
🥤 Flavor Water/Fun Soda Day – on the opposite weeks
🎃 Halloween Parties
💗 Valentine’s Day Parties
…and other fun activities throughout the year!
You don’t have to commit to everything—any amount of time you can give is greatly appreciated! Whether you can help once in a while or would like to be more involved, we would love to have you!

💦 WATER SURPRISE! 💦

On Wednesday, we had a heat advisory, and to make the day BETTER, Mrs. Brown, our amazing school nurse, was worried that our students might not be getting enough water throughout the day. So… we decided to turn hydration into a SURPRISE! 🎉💧

We ordered water for everyone and surprised all our students in attendance with a refreshing treat—and they even got to choose their own cool flavor! 😋💦

A HUGE thank you to Mrs. Brown for always looking out for and caring for our students! ❤️ And thank you to Mrs. Gates for helping us pass out all that water!

💧 Did you know? Students are allowed to bring WATER ONLY into their classrooms! The only stipulation is that it must be in a plastic bottle. We also have TWO water bottle filling stations in our building to make staying hydrated easy!

Because learning is hard work… and staying hydrated helps! 😉💦
