Student Transition and Engagement Program - STEP STEP is a first year mentoring and coaching program for 75 Pell Grant-eligible first year students at Salem State University.

Students participating in the Student Transition & Engagement Program (STEP) will successfully transition into college, thrive both personally and academically, and make progress towards their academic and career goals.

Stop by the Center for International Education’s annual Study Abroad Fair, where you can learn about all of the different opportunities to have an international experience during your time at Salem State!

SSU offers 1-week Study-Travel courses over Spring Break, 2-week Winter Term Programs, Summer Sessions, or Study Abroad for a full Fall and/or Spring semester. Two of our STEP mentors have even completed them and can speak to the impact it has had on their academic career.
