The Salem Hills Band played a fun and challenging set at the State Band Festival this afternoon. It was representative of high levels of learning, achievement, energy and artistry. The band earned an excellent rating for their performance. Go Skyhawks!

**EDIT: POST NOW INCLUDES VVMS ASSESSMENT RESULTS!**

Congrats to our teams for demonstrating what it truly means to JUST DO BAND in so many ways!

• To our Jazz Band, who received straight Superior ratings at Region Festival.

• To our Indoor Percussion Team, who placed first at their latest competition with a score of 85—a 15-point jump from their previous performance.

• To our Indoor Color Guard Team, who have been consistently placing throughout their season, including a first-place win at the Westlake competition with a score of 75. They are feeling ready to break records at their State Championship this weekend at Roy HS.

• To our Percussion Ensemble and 13 soloists, who qualified for the State Solo & Ensemble Festival on April 26.

• To our Symphonic Band, who earned straight Excellent ratings at their Region Festival.

• To our Wind Ensemble, who earned Superior ratings and qualified for the State Band Festival with their Region Festival performance.

• To the Salem Jr. 9th Grade Symphonic Band, who earned a Superior rating at the State Jr. High Band Festival.

• To the Salem Jr. 8th Grade Concert Band, who earned a Superior rating at their District Band Assessment.

• To the Salem Jr. Early Morning Jazz Band, who earned Excellent ratings at the State Jr. High Jazz Festival.

• To the Valley View Middle School Bands, who earned Superior ratings at their District Band Assessment.

• To our Marching Band, which set a new record with 87 members—the largest in program history!
