Friends of Englewood Elementary School in Salem Oregon

These photos came from Roger Rasmussen, the volunteer historian for the Oregon State Police. He shared these photos of Englewood with us. His message is quoted below.

we have a set of photos from glass slides that were taken in the fall of 1930 by Sgt. Walter Lansing at Englewood School. This was the year before the OSP was formed in 1931. Sgt Lansing was with the State Traffic Division (a predecessor organization of the OSP). He was in charge of traffic safety programs for the state and went to Englewood to prepare a school safety program that he took to schools around the state to promote school safety programs and the “Schoolboy Patrol” program that taught boys (sorry, no girls way back then) how to become crossing guards."

Today, Englewood had the first day of the spring plant sale to support our Englewood garden. Mrs. Katherine will be back next Thursday and Friday at dismissal to sell more plants.
