DO YOU NEED TO WAIVE YOUR HEALTH INSURANCE? If you aren't accepting the university health insurance plan, you do need to waive it so you can settle your fall bill (which is due next week). Instructions are available here: https://ask.salemstate.edu/kb/how-waive-out-or-enroll-health-insurance (link in Insta bio) Students must waive/accept health insurance every fall semester. The fall semester bill is due on August 12th, and the first payment plan payments were due August 1st.

Calling all of our incoming first-gen,first-year students!!! If you haven't signed up for the First-Gen Academy which starts this coming Monday, the deadline is TODAY (Thursday July 23).

The registration link was sent to your Salem State email last week. We hope you'll take us up on the offer to earn 1 free credit towards graduation (no cost!) while connecting with others students and learning how you can navigate your first-gen identity and college this fall!

We will meet Mondays on Zoom from 4:30pm - 6pm through the end of August!

Are you a first-gen student? Come join us for a lot of fun, opportunities to meet other students, and the chance to learn all the inside tricks to surviving your first year of college! PLUS A FREE COLLEGE CREDIT TOWARDS YOUR GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS! (Did we mention it's free?)

First-gen students have the info/link in their Salem State email account. The course meets Mondays from 4:30pm - 6pm starting July 20th!

Questions we've gotten - "Is it a lot of work?" Answer: NO! This is more about connecting and learning about college during the class period! "Do I need to buy books?" Answer: NO! We're not making you by anything! "Are there tests?" Answer: NO! This is not that kind of course...this is your chance to learn about the university processes and get your questions answered.

FIRST-GENERATION ACADEMY!
First-generation first-year students - this is your opportunity to STEP UP and get connected!
Salem State University is offering first-gen students (neither parent/guardian has received a 4 year bachelors degree from a college/university in the United States) a FREE one credit course this summer - the First-Gen Academy!

No books, no payments, online course, once a week (Monday evenings), an easy opportunity to take a class, learn about steps/tips/processes as you begin college, meet other students and make friends, and celebrate being first!

Check your Salem State email for the invitation to join....don't miss out on one of the limited spots!

Are you an incoming first-year student who identifies as first-gen (neither parent/guardian has received a bachelor's degree in the United States?) We've emailed/texted you with information regarding the FIRST-GENERATION ACADEMY!
