Whether you're just looking or already have set your heart on pursuing Global Cultural Studies (GCS) as your major here at Willamette, you're in the right place!

This Facebook account serves as the hub of all department goings-on from keeping you informed about movie nights, cultural events, lectures, and even study abroad opportunities. We work closely with partners at the Writing Center and Digital Learning Studio (DLS) to keep in constant contact with academic support systems so you'll never feel overwhelmed as you journey along the GCS pathway.

Some of you might be wondering...What is Global Cultural Studies?

GCS takes an interdisciplinary approach to the study of peoples and cultures around the world. Students will be examining the languages, social customs, rituals, religions, foods, media, art, politics, history, literature, health practices, epistemologies/education, and more that comprise the myriad human societies that populate the globe! If you are interested in any of the above topics, this very well could be the major for you! Students with GCS degrees will be well suited to enter graduate programs and jobs associated with politics, business, health, human rights, and beyond! Not only that, but students will be more than ready to excel in the highly globalized world of today-- solving complex problems, rising up to meet the greatest challenges, and taking the lead in developing the world of tomorrow.
