We had a wonderful weekend kicking off our Herbal Apprenticeship Program! 🌿✨
This month, we explored the lymphatic system and our herb of the month, Stellaria Media AKA: Chickweed. In addition to being a fantastic alterative, it's known for its emollient and anti-pruritic soothing/cooling properties, which makes it a beautiful ally for hot, itchy, irritated skin.
Our class learned how to make herbal salves and created our teaching assistant’s favorite: Chickweed and Calendula salve! It was such a joy to share, learn, and create together.
Chickweed is a beautiful spring herb so even though Salem got a little surprise snow last night, keep your eyes open as the earth begins to warm. This tiny treasure will soon be spreading its magic all around you.
Have you spotted chickweed yet? Drop a photo in the comments or tell us your favorite spring herb below, we’d love to hear from you! 🌱
