Sometimes the only way to heal is to break the cycle - even if that means walking away from the people who raised you 💔🧠

It’s one of the hardest truths for many survivors of parental narcissistic abuse to face:
✨ You didn’t abandon them.
✨ You protected yourself.

When a parent refuses to acknowledge the pain they caused…
When they twist the story so they can keep playing victim…
When they convince everyone else you’re “ungrateful,” “selfish,” or “cold”…
It can make you question your reality - again.

The grief runs deep because it’s not just about losing them - it’s about grieving the parent they could never be.
It’s grieving the version of you who tried so hard to earn love that was always conditional.

✨ If you’ve chosen distance, no contact, or strong boundaries - you’re not cruel.
✨ You’re not dramatic.
✨ You’re not broken.
✨ And you’re not selfish for putting your healing first.

And let’s be clear:
This is not about promoting family estrangement as the answer for everyone - it’s about recognizing when repair is not safe and choosing to break generational cycles instead of staying trapped in them. 🔗

You’re the cycle breaker.
The one who decided that the pain ends with you - not because it didn’t hurt, but because it did.

And that choice?
That’s not abandonment.
That’s self-respect.
That’s you giving your inner child the safety they never had. 🤍

You don’t owe your life to people who made you feel unworthy of your own needs.
You don’t have to keep carrying the weight of their denial.

💫 Inside my 1:1 Identity Transformation System, we go deep into healing these generational wounds - untangling guilt, rebuilding self-trust, and creating the version of you who’s free to live, not just survive.

In my Healing From Toxic Moms group, my Koinonia with Kara (single moms) group, in my Messenger chats and video sessions I know these are the steps to healing. I’ve seen it over and over. This morning seeing an overwhelmed face leave our session laughing with the exuberance of a child I KNOW these steps work. You are welcome to experience this journey with me. So much love for you. ❤️🌸🥰

🌱 What's your word for the year?

If you are the kind of person who chooses a word for the year, I hope you build a foundation that supports it.

About 4 years ago I had the phrase, "A Gentle, Rhythmic Life," pop into my mind. My life had always been chaotic and I'd been in survival mode for years. I had learned to ride huge waves and stay standing. I could navigate very difficult and surprising circumstances, but out of that pain the dream was borne for a gentle, rhythmic life.

..I had no idea how to accomplish it.

But almost every day I thought about it. Journaled about it. I made it my phone screensaver and created a hashtag on facebook for it. Made a lot of posts about it. Probably drove you crazy with it. Little by little it got clearer.

Another sentence popped into my mind that I knew deep in my soul was the truth. "Your health is the key to your wealth." And I started focusing on that. I had tried everything to be healthy and had nothing new to try, but I was willing to have hope that something could come along.

Those two phrases carved my path. They helped me make decisions about who would be in my life. They helped me know how I would spend my time. They helped direct my thoughts and emotions. They were HUGE in my vision. Almost all I could see.

🔨 I hope as you choose a word, and therefore a desire for your year, you will build the scaffolding, no, the foundation to support it fully.

As I look back over my year, I can see my Gentle, Rhythmic Life unfolding. I can see it in big and small ways. Some of those ways were miracles delivered to me on a silver platter. Some of them were things that took courage to implement. I didn't say, "I'm going to get up at 4 am every morning and exercise." The foundation wasn't built for that. If I had accomplished it, somehow, I would have felt good about myself for a little while until I failed. Then I would have made that about me not completing my goals, instead of the fact that I didn't have a foundation to support it. Why set yourself up for failure?

If you like what I'm saying, and you want more of it, if you want to REALLY get your word for the year to mean something in your life, get in my group so we can talk about it and I can encourage you. This is not a rah, rah, rah, youcandoit, kind of approach. This is a "what can we actually do to build the foundation to support" your version of "A Gentle, Rhythmic Life."

I didn’t like how I was feeling about MONEY, so I did my Emotional Strengthening process and found out what I was feeling. I found some painful things that happened to me that made me feel INEPT regarding money. I release the people that made me feel that way. But I’m still going to tell my stories. Listen here:
