Our Navigators brought the energy at Wednesday’s RTB Pep Rally! The gym was filled with chants, cheers, and school spirit as we kicked off an exciting few days of REACH Day and Reach the Beach.

Today marks the start of Hispanic Heritage Month!

To kick off the month, SACS 12th graders and founders of our Caribbean Culture Club joined the City of Salem for today’s Hispanic Heritage Month Flag Raising at Riley Plaza.

While we celebrate the cultures, histories, and contributions of our Hispanic and Latinx community throughout the year, this month offers a special opportunity to uplift and honor them with intention and pride.

We’re grateful our students had the opportunity to take part in today’s celebration and proud to celebrate alongside Manny Cruz, Mayor Pangallo, and our greater City of Salem community!

One month until REACH Day 2026!

We’re counting down to one of our favorite days of the year! Check out some photos from last year’s REACH Day field trips. From hiking and kayaking to paddleboarding and adventure courses, our students stepped outside the classroom to try something new, work together (alongside both classmates and teachers), and build connections and belonging early in the school year.

Congratulations to Mr. Omar Gonzalez, Salem Academy's 8th grade math teacher and grade team leader, who was honored at the 2026 Latinos for Education Latino Educators Shine Awards for his outstanding contributions to education.

Recognized by State Representative Manny Cruz and State Senator Joan Lovely, Omar was honored alongside more than 50 Latino educators from across the Commonwealth for the positive impact they make in their schools and communities.

Mr. Gonzalez's passion for his students, thoughtful leadership, and commitment to helping every learner succeed make our Salem Academy community stronger every day.

On June 5, graduates crossed the stage surrounded by family, friends, educators, alumni, trustees, and community members, marking the culmination of years of hard work, perseverance, and growth.

The ceremony featured inspiring remarks from Mayor Dominick Pangallo, keynote speaker Mikki Wilson () of Dot Connector Consulting, elected Class Speaker Jelainny Peralta, Valedictorian Lindsay Walker, and elected Staff Speaker Melissa Lassen. Together, their messages encouraged graduates to embrace change, stay true to themselves, cherish their community, and move forward with courage, gratitude, and purpose.

This fall, members of the Class of 2026 will continue their education at colleges and universities across Massachusetts and the country, including UMass Amherst, Salem State University, Howard University, Boston University, Bucknell University, Bowdoin College, and many more.

Congratulations, Class of 2026. We can't wait to see where your journey takes you next! 💚🐊
