FREE for families who qualify for Preschool Promise

Monday–Thursday

Could your family qualify?

Preschool Promise is available to eligible Oregon families with household income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.

2026 annual gross income guidelines:

2-person household: up to $43,280
3-person household: up to $54,640
4-person household: up to $66,000
5-person household: up to $77,360
6-person household: up to $88,720
7-person household: up to $100,080
8-person household: up to $111,440

Children in foster care may also qualify. Eligibility is determined through the Preschool Promise program.

It’s hard to believe we’re already looking ahead to fall enrollment.

With 11 children heading to kindergarten, we have openings for ages 3–5 this coming fall.

Are you looking for something different? We're not your typical preschool!

Our program is rooted in playful, child-led inquiry, where children explore their interests through play, creativity, movement, and connection. We focus on building confidence, problem-solving skills, and strong relationships while honoring each child as a whole person.

This program is free for qualifying families (see income guidelines below), and spots fill quickly.

When a child says they’ve found something amazing, we say, 'Let’s investigate!' Look at the incredible similarity between these playground flower buds and our ladybug egg replica. While they turned out to be different things, the cognitive leap the child made to connect the two is what we value most. Autonomy is the goal. From pumping their own paint into jars to choosing to feel the texture of the medium directly on their skin, these artists are in total control of their experience. By repurposing soap containers, we’ve removed the 'gatekeeper' (the teacher) and handed the power back to the child. This is authentic, child-led inquiry: What happens if I add three pumps of blue? What does it feel like when the paint dries on my palms? We value their curiosity more than we value clean shirts.

Is it an eyesore or a masterpiece? In our 'Yes Environment,' beauty is defined by utility, agency, and history. This structure has been cut, taped, decorated, stripped, and repainted by dozens of small hands. To the children, these cardboard walls represent their power to shape their own environment. It is currently their favorite quiet nook for reading and reflection. We choose to value their 'messy' layers of joy over a Pinterest-perfect room.

What happens when a child's imagination meets powerful scaffolding? The children had a sparked inquiry: 'We want to make Knuffle Bunny pictures!' Our response: Yes! How can we help? We co-authored their creativity by printing black and white scenes, transforming them into comic book artists. For one child determined to replicate Knuffle Bunny exactly, we scaffolded that goal by providing a replica to trace on the light table. The absolute delight when he 'accomplished his mission' was a masterclass in agency. This is how we support complex projects while honoring individual goals.

Who says you have to sit still for a story? We are reading from a new perspective (literally!). When a child finds a book that inspires them, their natural instinct is to be the story. These children are translating the symbols on the page directly into their own physical expression, performing their reading for their friends. This is what joyful literacy looks like: deep engagement, shared understanding, and a whole lot of moving.
