OSPA supports school psychologists through advocacy, professional development, and community partnerships to promote excellence in education, mental health, and diversity. We design these conferences to accomplish four goals: 1) Keep members' skills up to date with the latest evidence-based practices, 2) Provide Continuing Professional Development clock hours that are essential to license renewal, 3) Give all members - but particularly student members - a forum to present their research, and 4) Contribute to members' self-care plans by providing an opportunity for networking, camaraderie, and renewal. Members who leave the state often maintain their memberships to continue their subscriptions to this valuable source of information and communication. Members have access to electronic publishing. Designed specifically for their needs and convenience, this website maintains an archive of essential data, provides convenient on-line memebership applications and training conference registration, a web log (blog), and on-line discussion groups. Some information is available to the public, but only members have access to special features. Members have the opportunity to participate in governance. The will of the membership ultimately determines what OSPA will accomplish. Conference topics, policies, procedures, the annual budget - all of these and more result from member volunteerism. Whether you have an hour per year, an hour per month, or an hour per day to contribute, please step forward and participate in the improvement of the profession.
