Alcohol will be provided and this is a great space to connect, especially post the Dobbs decision. Please join the ACS Oregon Lawyer Chapter for an examination of Oregon's HB 4147. The proposed legislation seeks to restore voting rights to individuals in Oregon who have been convicted of a felony and allow them to vote while incarcerated. We will also examine the wider movement to restore voting rights to people previously convicted of a felony and presently incarcerated while hearing from formerly incarcerated individuals who have been directly affected by this form of disenfranchisement.

Join ACS tomorrow morning and on the 2nd Tuesday of every month for Hot Takes and Hot Cakes!

It'll be in the annex in Rick's. We'll be eating pancakes and talking about President Biden's Supreme Court Nominee options. It'll be very informal and we'll take hot takes that run the gambit of the political spectrum. ACS'll bring coffee, pancake toppings, regular pancakes, and gluten free pancakes, y'all bring the opinions.

Join SALDF and ACS in the presentation of "Police K-9s: Excessive Force, Racial Bias, and Animal Cruelty" on November 9th at 12:30pm via Zoom.
Ann Schiavone, associate professor of law at Duquesne University, and the author of "K-9 Catch-22: The Impossible Dilemma of Using Police Dogs in Apprehension of Suspects,” will join us to discuss the benefits of significantly limiting the scope of K-9 use and the problems associated with the lack of data surrounding law enforcement agencies and their K-9 units.
