🎉 Hey, Panther Country! Exciting news! 🎉

🍓🥕 Free fresh snacks are coming to the classroom! 🍎🥝

Our school has officially been awarded the USDA Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) grant!

What does this mean for our students?
Throughout the school year, students will have opportunities to taste fresh, delicious—and sometimes exotic—fruits and vegetables during the school day, at no cost to families!

From finger limes 🍋‍🟩 to crisp sugar snap peas 🫛 and plenty of tasty choices in between, the FFVP will help our students:

🍓 Discover new fruits and vegetables
🥕 Expand their palates
🍎 Learn about healthy food choices
💪 Fuel their bodies and minds for learning

We can't wait for our Panthers to explore new flavors, find some new favorites, and enjoy fresh, healthy snacks together!

Remember ALL middle school athletes must have a current (within the last 2 years) physical before they are able to begin practicing. We don't want this to sneak up on anyone.

⚽️🏈🥎 Sports season will be here before you know it! Make sure your student-athlete is ready for the upcoming school year with an athletic physical at Salem Memorial Hospital.

Athletic physicals help ensure students are healthy, safe, and prepared to participate in school sports and activities. Don’t wait until the last minute—schedule early and check one more thing off your back-to-school to-do list.

Online registration for North Wood R-4 returning students is now available for the 2026–2027 school year!

Returning families can log in to TeacherEase to review and update student information and complete the registration process.

🆕 New to North Wood R-4 for 2026–2027?
No action is needed just yet! New student families will receive an email with TeacherEase login instructions. Once you receive that email, you’ll be able to log in and complete your student's registration.

Attention 7th & 8th grade Panther families interested in middles school football!! Information sent out from Coach Patterson is this: "The first day of practice is Monday August 17th. Be there by 3:30pm each day because we will start at 3:45-5:30pm at the practice football field." Make sure you have an updated physical, as no athlete will be able to participate without an updated physical being on file. (IF IN DOUBT BRING A PHYSICAL COPY WITH YOU.) "Also we will no longer be using Remind app for updates but we will be using Connect to update anything involved with athletics. You can go to our website https://www.salemr80.org/ and click the 'sign in' button in the upper right hand corner. You will login using your Google credentials."
