If your roof repair starts and ends with a tube of caulk...you're treating the symptom, not solving the problem.

Don't get us wrong. Caulk absolutely has its place. We use Blue Max® Caulk as part of our roof systems to seal joints, penetrations, and other details. But a tube of caulk isn't a roof restoration system. A long-lasting waterproof roof system is built in layers.

1️⃣First comes the waterproofing basecoat. Products like Blue Max® or Elasto-Barrier® create the foundation by forming a seamless waterproof membrane across the roof.

2️⃣Next comes reinforcement. Ames Contouring Roof Fabric is embedded between two wet layers of basecoat. It helps to strengthen the system even more.

3️⃣Finally, every roof that's exposed to sunlight needs a UV-stable topcoat. That's where Maximum-Stretch® or Premium Roof Armor® come in. They protect the waterproofing membrane from UV exposure while adding long-term durability and weather resistance. Want a color other than white? Maximum-Stretch® comes in a wide variety of tints.

So go ahead and only caulk it, but do it at your own risk. You're asking one product to do the job of an entire waterproofing system.
