The next time you are visiting , stop by The Spinsters Studio and see the rug, made in the 1950’s by Thomas Kay’s widow, from wool fabric made at the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill (later called Mission Mill and now the Willamette Heritage Center).

Beginning spinning lessons (available through ) are held here by President Weisha Mize . The studio is next toTeaselwick Wool in the main building.

We love all fiber arts! This is a recent Dorset Button Class.

Dorset Buttons are a historic craft that uses traditional needlework, weaving, and embroidery techniques on a rigid frame.

Once again, Salem Fiberarts Guild enjoyed a day of fiber demonstrations with our friends from the Fiber Community. We were able to showcase many of our favorite fiber arts and interact with fiber enthusiasts of all ages.

We will have these at the Oregon State Fair Fiber Arts Division this summer!

Come see us in the Dye House! We will be there demonstrating along with other fiber artists.

This is a great opportunity for all ages to be exposed to the wonder of learning a fiber craft

We look forward to having the community come enjoy music, storytelling, and demonstrations from sheep shearers, thread spinners, and weavers! And in the blink of an eye - it is time to start planning for the 2026 State and local fair season! The Oregon State Fair dates for this year are August 28 - September 7.

There are two opportunities for you to consider to support the State Fair.

1 -Enter your fiber art in addition to your local fairs.
