Hello!! Laine Schafer here with Smarty Pants Tutoring.

Have you ever heard of the Summer Slide? According to research, the Summer Slide is a regression in academic proficiency due to summer break. We LOVE summer but truly kids can lose up to 20% of their school gains during this time! This is especially concerning if your kiddo has struggled this year in school.

Let me help!!
I have taught 24 years teaching experience in lower elementary and am now a Title Reading teacher in Salem, Missouri. Smarty Pants Tutoring will be offering reading tutoring sessions through the summer. I focus on PHONICS, fluency, and High Frequency Words. I love to incorporate lots of different strategies to make learning to read fun! If you have a kiddo that has struggled with any of these skills, I can help. ❤️ These sessions will be offered to incoming 1st AND incoming 2nd graders!

Also I will be offering a reading club for 2nd and 3rd grade level readers. These sessions will be for offered to readers who are ready for chapter books or would like to continue to improve reading skills through the summer. These sessions will focus on reading COMPREHENSION skills.
