Yesterday, we celebrated Constitution Day with an incredible conversation featuring civil rights lawyer Sophia Hall! 🇺🇸📚

From thoughtful questions to meaningful conversations about the Constitution, civil rights, and civic engagement, we’re grateful to everyone who showed up and made the event such a great space for learning and discussion.

And today is officially Constitution Day! ⚖️✨ A day to reflect on the U.S. Constitution, the rights it protects, and the importance of staying engaged in our democracy.

We are so proud of our incredible students who worked tirelessly to complete their degrees. We wish you the best of luck in your continued paths of public service and civic leadership. Know wherever you go, you'll always have your coalition at Salem State. 💙🧡

The Berry IOP was proud to host the first forum that included a debate portion, for the candidates in a contested primary race vying for the open 6th Congressional District seat.

After the September 1 primary, the Democratic nominee will face Republican candidate Micah Jones in the November 3 general election.

Thank you to the 250 attendees and to our Salem State and community partners who made this important dialogue a success. Special shoutouts to our volunteers, timekeepers from League of Women Voters-Salem and to Alison King for moderating and being an invaluable partner in the planning process.
