75 juniors. 9 design sprints. 1 day of bold ideas in action. Yesterday at Salem Academy Charter School, NuVuX & NuVu Coaches—alongside seniors serving as interns—led a full day of hands-on design sprints. Students jumped into the creative process, collaborating, prototyping, and pushing their thinking to tackle real-world challenges.
By the end of each sprint, ideas were on the table, prototypes were in hand, and students were presenting work they had built from the ground up. Along the way, they strengthened essential skills—collaboration, design, presenting, and problem-solving—through an active, real-world learning experience.
NuVuX
We partner with K-12 schools by offering innovative design studio experiences that nurture creative problem-solving skills in students.
We collaborate with teachers to help them integrate studio-based programs into their classrooms and makerspace.
When students are trusted as makers and problem-solvers, engagement changes.
NuVuX studios help students develop the skills that matter most — communication, resilience, collaboration, and creative confidence.
This is learning that prepares students for the real world — not just the next test.
Imagine this energy in your classrooms.
Are you in Puerto Rico meeting Bad Bunny, you ask? Not exactly…but it’s just as exciting. NuVuX is in Puerto Rico working with teachers and students at Baldwin School of Puerto Rico, bringing all the high energy and engagement of a strong design education! On our first day, our amazing Head of Product, Kate James, ran three activities: a modular design exercise with classes assembling 100 interlocking laser cut parts in 3rd grade, a cardboard tile quilt project for 1st and 2nd grade, and a double paper ring project in pre-k and kinder.

Monday is a great day to set the energy for the week! One way to elevate the energy in the design studio is by getting students to prototype. Our NuVuX Design Dashes are a fun, quick way to learn how to practice the design process in any classroom setting. In our latest Design Dash, "Grocery Bag Challenge", students will get comfortable with the skill of prototyping. And how cool is it that you can use a material that's easily available? Paper bags are an incredible prototyping material, and this challenge is a great activity for school spirit week - Wacky Wednesday, Crazy Hair Friday, or Maker Monday!
Ready to take the challenge? Dive into “Grocery Bag Challenge” with your students and show off their creations! Don’t forget to tag us at . Let the creativity flow! ✨
