Some stained glass projects are meant to hang still. Cindy’s latest project was definitely meant to move!

She created this stained glass spinner from six individual geometric panels. Once the panels were complete, the real challenge began: assembling and soldering them together at right angles to create the three dimensional structure.

This project took patience, precision, and problem solving. Very fitting For a math teacher.

The best part is seeing all that careful construction come together once the spinner starts turning in the light.

Rachael had a productive week in the studio, completing two very different projects, both created as gifts for family members.

From the warm amber tones of her heart to the teapot nightlight, each project gave her another opportunity to work with different shapes, glass choices, and construction.

It’s been wonderful watching Rachel continue to grow and refine her stained glass skills with each new project.

Rachel’s monstera leaf is a great example of how the little details make a big difference.

Created as a gift for a lifelong friend, she chose beautiful streaky green glass and finished each edge with beaded soldering.

She also incorporated wire reinforcement into the design, an important technique that helps provide long-term strength and durability.

It’s always fun when a project starts with an idea from someone special.

David designed this panel around a bevel cluster, and with a little inspiration from his 9-year-old, a pirate theme was born! ☠️

He selected textured glass and a bold colors to give the piece depth and character. To finish it off, he was introduced to zinc framing.

One of my favorite parts of teaching is seeing students take a design from concept to completion while learning new techniques along the way.

Sometimes stained glass is just as much about finding creative solutions as it is about cutting glass.

Colette Lekborg created these dinosaurs for a special young gentleman she knows. One challenge was the dinosaur’s many sharp teeth. Rather than cutting and foiling dozens of tiny pieces, she used copper foil as an overlay to create the teeth.

It’s a great example of thinking outside the box to achieve the look you want while keeping the project both practical and structurally sound.

Some projects tell a story.

Glynnis created this beautiful shamrock using bevels to frame a collection of pressed flowers from the funeral arrangement of a dear friend’s parent. 💚

What could have been a fleeting reminder has been transformed into a lasting keepsake that can be displayed for years to come.

I love seeing members take an idea that is deeply personal and bring it to life in glass. Glynnis’ creativity and thoughtfulness shine through every detail of this piece.

Flower season means more stained glass plant stakes!

One of my favorite parts of teaching is watching students grow with each project. Plant stakes can be deceptively challenging. The smaller pieces require patience, careful fitting, and attention to detail.

Rachel took on a cardinal for her latest project, and it came out beautifully. It’s rewarding to see both her craftsmanship and experience continue to grow with every piece she creates.

Wonderful job, Rachel! I can’t wait to see which bird you make next.

Glynnis is such a creative lady, always busy making something new. For this piece, she went abstract, putting together a piece with great use of geometric shapes. This piece is for a flower garden and it’s a great way to use up scrap glass too. That green and blue wavy glass really catches the light perfectly.
