Epic plays happening today in SMS 101 Flag Football. Our one credit activity classes provide not only chances to learn and practice new skills but also a chance for stress relief, fun, and friendship building! Check them out for fall 2026.

You know what’s really fun about sports?? When it brings people of all backgrounds and cultures together!! In SMS 133 Winter Sports class today we had our students teaching our and students the art of floor hockey. You’ll all be happy to know .berndt__ and crew put in the work! Let’s hope the team brings it tonight against MCLA!

Welcome back to the first week of classes! Our activity classes offer some stress relief and fun. We have several exciting classes that still have openings if you are looking to add a class:

Group exercise instructing could be your calling. Date: Monday, January 5-Friday, January 9, 2026. Time: 10am-1pm Location: Salem State University O’Keefe Sports Complex 225 Canal Street,Salem, MA 01979, led by Annmarie Bedard, M.Ed. Certified group exercise instructor

Hey! If you have any interest in running sports, fitness, community or other events or programs, these courses are for you! SMS 271 will teach you the ins and outs of program/event design and management while our friends in will fill you in on special events and festivals. It’s a great collaboration and highly recommends if you want to go into the exciting field of event management!

We are so excited to highlight some of our Recreation, Outdoor & Event Management spring 2026 courses! There is literally something for everyone in this list! If you like working with people and running programs, SMS 271 Rec & Event Program Planning is for you! If you want to learn about how recreation is used in a therapeutic and adaptive manner, SMS 274 Intro to Rec Therapy is the ticket. If you want to learn how to run a camp, SMS 371 Camp Admin would be awesome. SMS 377 Rec sport Admin is the 6-7 if you want to learn how to run sports for different groups.

Is the outdoors calling to you?? If so, we’ve got some fun options. During the third quarter, you could take Archery or Winter Sports and shoot, hike, snowshoe, skate, sled, and ski your way through the winter months (Jan-March). As we move into spring, you can hike and backpack in our one of a kind backpacking course (we supply the equipment). And if you want to learn about how nature heals and inspires as well learning about conservation and environmental policy, you can take our winter session course - SMS 272 Outdoor Rec & the Environment online from Dec29-Feb6.
