El Puente Preschool, LLC

This will be my last week caring for kiddos. El Puente Preschool LLC will be permanently closing as of December 2nd. It has been an amazing year running El Puente Preschool! I feel extremely proud & grateful to have owned & ran my own business.

I have learned so much, and stretched myself more then I ever knew I could. I have a new found appreciation for small business owners & all childcare workers. They all work extremely hard, and deserve so much appreciation.

It's a bit bittersweet, to no longer be teaching my sweet kiddos, or no longer be home with my very sweet toddler. Alas, I'm also very excited about my next chapter & being able to help 100's if not 1,000s of children & providers as the new Bilingual Early Childhood Specialist for the Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency( CCR&R).

What twisty unpredictable paths my life's journey has taken, but I honestly wouldn't change any decisions, or events thus far. If anything I feel grateful, & accomplished in having done what many wouldn't dare try. Thanks to all who have supported me, & my El Puente dream, nothing is ever done alone.

We don't know how your summer went, but ours was THIS much fun! Have you ever pool noodle battled before? It's a must! Now we're getting ready to dive in the season of harvesting! Whoo hoo!

It's not too late to find care, or preschool in West salem! If your kid loves being outside every day and making lots of art, El Puente Preschool, may be just right for your preschooler. I still have spots open for every day of the week. We are harvesting from our 6 raised garden beds everyday right now! It's hard to believe that two18 month-olds planted most of our veg that we are eating every week right now. Great work my little gardeners! We are also enjoying two types of pears from our trees daily, and this week we made mango yellow squash chia seed smoothies, Ms. Katy sneaks those veggies in whenever possible😁! .

I'm doing another Free community clothes swap next Saturday September 10-11am. Bring a bag, take a bag. Feel free to drop off any donations this week. Any Left over clothes will be consigned for my preschool-helping us buy toys & books. Then anything not sold will either be sent to a school in Africa, or textile recycled if too old/damaged. We read every day in English & Spanish. These kids can't get enough, "Teacher can you read this again?! "Yes! Yes I can!"

Leemos cada día en inglés o español aquí en El Puente Preescolar, los chiquitos aman a los libros. ¡Qué lindo!

Sometimes strawberry banana chia seed smoothies and toast make our mornings just right. A veces solo necesitas un pan tostada y una batida de fresas, banana, y semillas de chia para tener un buen día.

We are still looking for amazing assistant teachers who are passionate about bilingual and nature based learning! Need to be available Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday. This would be a great job for a student, or someone looking for part-time work! $15/hour to start, raise after first 30 days. Email Katy at [email protected] if you're interested.
