🔴🟠🟡 Happy International Dot Day from Prospect Elementary! 🟢🔵🟣

Today, our students celebrated International Dot Day, a worldwide celebration of creativity, courage, and self-expression inspired by Peter H. Reynolds’ book The Dot. The story encourages children to “make their mark” and discover where their creativity can take them! 🎨✨

Throughout the day, Prospect Elementary students tapped into their creative sides by reading books, creating art, and taking their creativity outdoors. With sidewalk chalk in hand, students were able to “graffiti” the sidewalks with colorful drawings, designs, and messages! 🌈🖍️

We were also excited to welcome high school students who traveled over to the elementary building to help with activities throughout the day. It was wonderful to see our older students working alongside and encouraging our younger students as they celebrated creativity together! ❤️

And we couldn’t have asked for better weather! ☀️ It was the perfect day to learn, create, have fun, and — most importantly — make our mark!

Thank you to everyone who helped make International Dot Day such a colorful and memorable day at Prospect Elementary!

🌲☀️ Class of 2027 Senior Day! 🎓

What a beautiful day at Allegany State Park! Our Class of 2027 seniors spent the day making memories, enjoying the outdoors, and most importantly, spending time together.

From hiking and fishing to corn hole, basketball, soccer, relaxing, laughing, and just enjoying each other’s company, it was a day filled with fun and friendship!

These students are entering their last year together, and we’re making every moment count. Here’s to an amazing senior year filled with memories they’ll carry with them long after graduation!

👨‍🍳🍴 CULINARY IS BACK AT THE HIGH SCHOOL! 🍴👩‍🍳

We’re excited to have our Culinary Program back in the kitchen this year! A class of 12 students is ready to chop, mix, create, taste, and learn their way through a year of delicious adventures.

Under the guidance of Chef John Haley, students are building their skills from the ground up—learning everything from proper knife handling and cutting techniques with our donated Cutco Cutlery knives to creating tasty dishes using our KitchenAid mixers.

And they’re already cooking! One of their latest creations was a honey and herb goat cheese spread served on crostini with roasted squash. 😋

This program is about so much more than great food. Students are gaining hands-on experience, learning kitchen safety, practicing teamwork, building confidence, and discovering the creativity behind the culinary arts.

We’re thrilled to have Culinary back at the high school and can’t wait to share what these talented students whip up next! 🥄🧀🔪

🎒📚 SEPTEMBER IS ATTENDANCE AWARENESS MONTH! 📚🎒

We’re already at Day 6 of school, and we’re off to a great start! 🌟

Every day in school is an opportunity for our students to learn, grow, connect, and succeed. Being at school on time and ready to learn helps students build strong routines and keeps them connected to their teachers, classmates, and school community.

📅 Did you know? Missing just 2 days of school each month can add up to about 18 days—or 10% of the entire school year! Missing 10% or more of school days is considered chronic absenteeism.

We know that sometimes there are challenges that make getting to school difficult. We’re here to help! ❤️ If your family needs assistance or support, please reach out to our Attendance Officer:

Let’s make this a great year by showing up, staying connected, and making every school day count!
