🎶 Hi, Salado Choir! I’m Mrs. McIntosh, and I am so excited to be joining both the middle school and high school campuses as your new choir director!
A few things about me:
🎵 Former All-State First Soprano
🎺 Former All-State French Horn Alternate
🎭 Former Best Actress award winner
🎓 Angelo State University graduate
🎶 Studied voice under Erin Alisanski, an Eastman School of Music alumna
🏫 Founded and built a choir program at a private school in Austin and led it for five years
🎼 Member of the Salado Community Chorus since 2018
⛪ Lifelong church musician and ministry kid (PK life!)
🌱 Passionate about developing leaders and helping students discover their gifts
At home you’ll find me with:
🐾 2 cats
🐶 1 dog
👧👧👦 3 kids
🎾 and one tennis coach hubby who patiently listens to my thoughts on choir uniforms and music theory.
Other important facts:
🍫 Chocolate oranges are an elite candy choice.
☕ I practically run on coffee.
🎄 Christmas season begins whenever I decide it begins.
🧶 I occasionally get inspired to craft, but finishing the project is another story.
🗣️ I have lots of opinions and genuinely enjoy hearing other people’s opinions too.
Most importantly, I believe choir should be more than a class. I want our program to be full of tradition, excellence (let’s win some trophies!), trust, leadership, fun, and belonging. Choir becomes a family, and for many students it becomes one of the places they’ll remember most about their school years.
As a parent whose own children grew up (and are still growing up!) in the Salado fine arts programs, I am especially excited to work alongside the incredible band directors and fine arts teachers who helped shape my own family.
I can’t wait to make music with you all this year. ❤️🖤🤍
