🎒☀️ Sunshine Enrichment Center Weekly Recap | August 16–22, 2026 ☀️🎒

This week at Sunshine Enrichment Center, our consumers jumped into a fun Back to School theme filled with creativity, community experiences, choice-making, and opportunities to build everyday skills!

Our consumers kicked off the week with group discussions, I Spy, dot-to-dot activities, word building, color-cut-and-paste projects, and collaborative coloring. These activities gave everyone opportunities to communicate, work alongside their peers, express their creativity, and practice skills in a fun and engaging way. 🧩🎨✏️

One of the week's biggest adventures was our Rock Hunting Scavenger Hunt Ride! 🪨🔎 Consumers got out into the community, searched for rocks, explored their surroundings, and enjoyed the excitement of being on an adventure together.

We also had some friendly competition with Dice Bingo, enjoyed playground and gym time, and practiced important safety skills during an intruder drill. These experiences help our consumers build confidence, awareness, and independence in everyday situations. 💙🚨

Thursday was a special one as we celebrated National Potato Day! 🥔 Consumers explored the potato life cycle, planted potatoes, created potato-themed crafts, practiced counting potatoes, and had some fun with a classic game of Hot Potato! Learning through hands-on experiences made the day both meaningful and entertaining.

Consumer Choice was another highlight of the week, giving consumers the opportunity to have a voice in their day and choose activities that interested them. Choice-making is an important part of building independence and self-advocacy. 💙

We wrapped up the week with an exciting trip to the Cape Nature Center! 🌳🥾 Consumers packed their own lunches, put on their walking shoes, and headed out to enjoy nature and explore the community. They also continued participating in Kibu activities throughout the week.

At SEC, our "Back to School" theme isn't about going back to a classroom—it's about creating opportunities for our consumers to learn through experiences, practice independence, make choices, connect with their community, and enjoy time with their friends.

We are so proud of our consumers and all they accomplished this week! 💙☀️

😊💙 Sunshine Enrichment Center Weekly Recap | Emotions Week 💙😊

This week at Sunshine Enrichment Center, our consumers explored Emotions Week through activities designed to encourage self-expression, communication, socialization, independence, and plenty of fun!

Our consumers had opportunities to talk about and recognize emotions while participating in activities such as personal writing, I Spy, UNO, Pick Your Number Dice, crafts, sequencing, and Kibu activities. These experiences encouraged consumers to express themselves, interact with their peers, practice decision-making, and work through activities together. 🎨🧩🎲

Consumer Choice was also an important part of the week, giving consumers the opportunity to make their own choices about how they wanted to spend their time. Choice-making is an important part of building independence and allowing each person to have a voice in their daily experiences. 💙

Our consumers stayed active with playground and gym time, line tag, and a fun trip to bowling! 🎳 They also practiced important everyday skills through money and money-management activities, helping connect their experiences at SEC to skills they can use in their daily lives. 💵

Safety and preparedness were also part of the week. Consumers participated in both a power outage response and an earthquake drill, providing opportunities to practice what to do during unexpected situations in a supportive environment. 🚨

One of the highlights of the week was having FFA officers visit during the afternoon! Our consumers enjoyed the opportunity to interact with community members, make connections, and welcome visitors to SEC. 🤝🌱

And we definitely couldn't end the week without some FUN! 🎤🎶 Consumers enjoyed karaoke, Bingo, and game stations, giving everyone opportunities to socialize, laugh, cheer each other on, and enjoy time together.

At Sunshine Enrichment Center, every day is about more than simply completing activities. It's about helping our consumers make choices, build relationships, practice independence, participate in their community, and enjoy meaningful experiences with the people around them.

We are incredibly proud of the way our consumers participated, supported one another, and embraced each opportunity this week. 💙☀️

🍉📖 Sunshine Enrichment Center Weekly Recap | August 2–8, 2026 📖🍉

This week at Sunshine Enrichment Center, our consumers enjoyed Short Stories Week, where each day brought a new opportunity to express themselves, participate with their peers, build everyday skills, and—most importantly—have FUN! ☀️💙

Our consumers kicked off the week with National Watermelon Day 🍉! They created watermelon crafts, explored the watermelon life cycle, practiced writing words that begin with “W,” and learned about what makes a short story. They also participated in pixel art and had the opportunity to practice safety skills through a tornado drill.

Throughout the week, consumers worked on personal writing, subtraction, counting to 100, money skills, and sight words through interactive activities and games. Rather than simply sitting and learning, our consumers were encouraged to participate, move, socialize, make choices, and work together. 🎨🔢💵

There was plenty of active fun throughout the week too! Consumers participated in exercise stations, bag toss, I Spy, Hot Potato, Cheerio games, station activities, dancing to the oldies, and playground/gym time. These activities provided opportunities to practice coordination, communication, teamwork, and social interaction while enjoying time with friends. 💃🎶🏐

Thursday brought a special treat as we celebrated National Root Beer Float Day! 🥤🍦 Consumers enjoyed making and sharing root beer floats together, creating another opportunity to practice participation, choice-making, and socialization while enjoying a summertime favorite.

And, of course, we couldn't end the week without some friendly competition! 🎉 Friday featured BINGO and Consumer Choice, allowing our consumers to choose activities they enjoyed and have a say in how they spent their day.

At Sunshine Enrichment Center, our goal is to provide opportunities for consumers to build independence, make choices, strengthen relationships, participate in their community, and enjoy meaningful experiences. Every activity gives our consumers another chance to discover something they enjoy and celebrate what they can accomplish.

We are so proud of everything our consumers accomplished this week! 💙☀️ Thank you to our families and guardians for trusting us to be part of their loved ones' lives and allowing us to share these special moments with you.

🚀🌎 Sunshine Enrichment Center Weekly Recap | July 26 – August 1, 2026 🌎🚀

Our consumers had an out-of-this-world week as we explored Space Week at Sunshine Enrichment Center! Throughout the week, consumers participated in engaging activities that encouraged creativity, communication, independence, and teamwork while learning about our amazing solar system.

The week began with a focus on Earth, where consumers practiced writing personal information, learned interesting Earth facts, created drawings of our planet, completed hands-on cut-and-paste activities, and participated in an emergency drill to reinforce important safety procedures. 🌍💙

As the week continued, consumers explored Jupiter, the Sun, and Mars through interactive discussions, educational Kibu activities, and creative projects. They practiced math skills by counting planets and moons, wrote fun facts about each planet, completed planet-themed word searches, and enjoyed exciting activities like sight word races and "I Spy Planets." These experiences promoted communication, problem-solving, and lifelong learning in a fun and meaningful way. 🪐☀️🔭

One of the highlights of the week was working together to create our Solar System wall display. Every consumer contributed to the project, showcasing their creativity while working as a team. We also enjoyed an "Out of This World" Dance Party, where consumers celebrated with music, movement, and lots of laughter! 💃🕺✨

Community outings remained an important part of our week as consumers visited local parks, the library, the bowling alley, grocery stores, downtown Ste. Genevieve, and other favorite community locations. These outings provide opportunities to build independence, practice social skills, and stay actively engaged in our community. 🌳🎳🛒

At Sunshine Enrichment Center, every activity is designed to help our consumers build confidence, strengthen everyday life skills, and create meaningful relationships while having fun. Watching our consumers encourage one another, embrace new experiences, and celebrate their accomplishments is what makes each week so special.

🧚📖 Sunshine Enrichment Center Weekly Recap | July 19 – July 25, 2026 📖🧚

This week, our consumers stepped into the magical world of Fairy Tale Week! Through creative storytelling, hands-on activities, and engaging learning experiences, they used their imaginations while continuing to build valuable academic, social, and independent living skills.

Each day featured a different classic fairy tale, including Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Little Pigs, and Jack and the Beanstalk. Consumers practiced writing their personal information, watched educational Kibu videos, and even challenged their creativity by writing different endings to familiar stories. They also created their own stories, allowing everyone to express themselves and share their unique ideas. 📚✏️✨

Throughout the week, consumers participated in sequencing activities, matched pictures to words, completed color-by-number pages and word searches, and strengthened math skills with fun pig-themed addition activities. These activities helped reinforce literacy, problem-solving, and critical thinking in a fun and interactive way. 🧩🔢

Creativity was on full display as consumers built colorful candy houses inspired by Hansel and Gretel, crafted their own fairy tale houses, created towering beanstalks, sorted beans, and even designed their own friendly giants! They also enjoyed collaborative coloring projects and group plays, where they worked together to bring their favorite fairy tales to life while building confidence, communication, and teamwork. 🎨🏠🌱

To wrap up the week, consumers enjoyed a trip to the bowling alley, where they celebrated friendships, encouraged one another, and shared plenty of laughter. They also enjoyed Consumer Choice, giving everyone the opportunity to choose activities that interested them most and continue building independence through everyday decision-making. 🎳💙

At Sunshine Enrichment Center, we love seeing our consumers grow in confidence, express their creativity, and support one another each day.
