Mrs. Restel’s 4th grade science students got layers deep in their learning as they worked together to build the rock layers of the Grand Canyon out of Play-Doh! By stacking the layers one at a time, students created a model to help them visualize how older rock layers form first and newer layers are deposited on top. 🌄🪨

Our 4th grade paleontologists examined fossils and used their observations to uncover clues about what Earth’s environments were like long ago. They learned that the fossils found in different rock layers can tell quite a story about our planet’s past! 🐚
