I've been refining the alignment of my controlled text passages, and this Daniel Boone passage represents a major improvement.
The decoding demands are more carefully aligned, while still allowing for richer vocabulary, stronger background knowledge, and more meaningful content.
This updated format includes:
📖 improved controlled text alignment
⭐ a Words to Know section for vocabulary support
🧠 quick comprehension questions
Controlled text should support decoding without stripping away interest, vocabulary, or ideas.
