Senior Exam Exemption Forms Available Now!
Seniors! Please see Mrs. Gilbert in the main office to pickup your exam exemption form. You need to have it filled out with all signatures and returned to Mrs. Gilbert by the end of the school day on 5/13. Â
Here are some frequently asked questions about exam exemptions:
    •    First, students with a provisional C or better course grade now qualify to exempt the course’s final exam if they’ve also met the attendance requirement and have less than 5 absences for the course within which they are earning a provisional C or better course grade.
    ◦    Provisional grades are reviewed at the end of the 7th week of the second quarter of each semester. Students must hold the provisional C or better grade in each course they wish to exempt through the end of the semester in order to continue qualifying to exempt the exam.
    •    Second, students who qualify to exempt a course’s exam may choose to exempt both the semester and final exams for the school year.
    •    Reminder that only 3 exams can be exempted each semester by any student. Second semester seniors may waive all exams if they meet the requirements, even those which were waived first semester.
    •    And finally, absences will now count against exam exemptions on a course-by-course basis.
    •    For example, if a student is absent 4 times in a semester in their Spanish 1 course, but 6 times in a semester for their World History course, the student would now qualify to exempt their Spanish 1 exam (if their provisional grade is a C or better in that course) but be required to take their World History exam because in that course, the student exceeded the allowable 4 absences (regardless of the provisional grade they are earning in the course).
Exemption forms are due back to Mrs. Gilbert by the end of the school day on 5/13!
