DTOTW: The Anatomy of a Milestone
A milestone isn’t just “finishing the whole thing.” It’s the completion of a specific, high-effort phase. The typical phases are the proposal defense, the lit review, data collection, individual chapters, and the full draft. However, if needed, break those milestones down ever further. It helps to reduce burnout because you’re waiting for major milestones to celebrate yourself.
