Now it’s over. Call it a day! Great racing and it turned out this way. Our National qualifiers are Gulliver, Lucy Beckham, and Ransom. Congratulations. Louisiana here SAISA comes and watch out. These kids are good. Great conditions both days after the sea breeze came in each day after noon. Great job by PRO DeGuire and team. Madeline Baldridge and Team Charleston Community Sailing maneuvered well to pull off a great event at the prestigious Carolina Yacht Club. Thx to all the volunteers!!!

The vote is in and Academic Magnet has been chosen for this year's at large berth for the Mallory Qualifier. 3 teams applied and the 8th place team in the north district got the spot. That means the 16 teams are now qualified and there is no reason for you to not have already registered. If you have not, go do so. If there is any reason that your team cannot attend please let us know asap so we can let another team take your place in Charleston SC in April. Good luck to all! See link below or go to Club Spot to register your team. Sail fast, often, and have fun!

The regular season is over. NP 7 is in the books. Columbia Sailing Club got in as many races as possible over 2 days in true lake conditions. Great venue with beautiful camping area for more adventurous teams. The at large berth will be decided early this week. 2 teams from this event and one that sailed in SP 7 have requested to be considered. Looking forward to district championship in Charleston in a couple weeks.

From Aquinas school: I think one of our sailors accidentally put her gear in another team’s boat at the JIYC NP 6. There were two boats next to each on trailers ready to leave. She thought she put her bags in our boat, then ran to grab some other stuff. She came back and her stuff was gone, but so was the other boat. I think she just put it in the wrong boat, and then the other team drove off without even knowing about it. Would you mind adding a post asking teams to check their boats for two bags ? I would really appreciate it.

This is that post so if you were there and have some items unspoken for please reach out to someone with the school or message us. Many thanks!

So much going on in SAISA!
First - Girls Champs Regatta has been scheduled for first weekend in May at Rollins University. Thanks to them for stepping up. Please try to support this event everyone! A lot of effort was put in to make this happen. It is on the schedule as of today and keep an eye out for NOR but put it on YOUR schedule now!

Points season is almost done, and we have a large group sailing in Charleston this coming weekend in NP #6 at James Island YC and hosted by Charleston Community Sailing. After this weekend teams in the North and South will have one more chance to get into the districts at NP 7 & SP 7. SP 6 was cancelled due to conditions so that one is gone. Shows the importance of getting to as many points events during the year in case 1 goes away.
This weekend the NP #6 will also act as the Caribbean Qualifier so we will know what team from the islands is going to Districts.
Sail fast, often, and have fun!

NO #5! Congrats to Hoggard! Great score in a tough event. Follow closely by New Bern and then James Island. See ya at James Island for NP #6 which has 20 or more Varsity teams and will also be the Caribbean Qualifier!!!

The Ladies Champs regatta in Charleston has been cancelled. Our schedule will be updated. The team at CCS is planning on trying to do something next fall. If there are any areas that want to host it this year, SAISA can probably work with you to help make it happen. Get hold of one of our board members to inquire.

Lots going on in SAISA as usual. The North has 2 February events. Registration is open for them. NOR should be up in next day for the Charleston event hosted by Charleston Community Sailing and James Island Yacht Club.

Keep an eye out for the NOR for the Girls Championship happening in Charleston in March. Dates already picked. It is on the Calendar. Only need 2 girls to make a team.

Homeschool requests are due. If you know of anyone who has not applied and needs to for the spring semester, please ask us for a link to the request. If you have already requested and been ok'd in the past, you do not have to refile. The request stays in place unless you change situations.

Sail fast, often, and have fun!

Lucy Beckham won the ISSA Big Boat Championship! Congratulations. Way to go SAISA. And if that’s not enough, we were granted a second entry in the last week. It went to the HB Plant team who was our first alternate and proved they deserved it helping SAISA go 1,2 for the event. 9 races and Beckham could breath easy after race 8 with an insurmountable lead and Plant won the last race to lock in their second place 🥈 finish!!!
