Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium's Protect Our Reefs Grant has awarded Eckerd College $25,000 for crab research. “Every day I was in the lab, salty, sweaty, working with crabs. None of this was hands-off,” says Maggie Crofford, a senior marine science and environmental studies major who has been researching Caribbean king crabs in the Florida Keys since her sophomore year.
