When the Wi-Fi isn’t working… sometimes it’s the perfect opportunity to unplug and learn in a whole new way!
Mr. Niyan’s fifth-grade class turned a screen-free moment into an engaging learning experience! After reading chapters from Fish in a Tree, students practiced their fifth-grade reading standards through movement, collaboration, and an outside-the-box art project. 🎨📖
Students created Character Connection Trees, where each leaf represented an answer to a text-dependent, target-related question. As they worked, students collaborated with classmates, discussed their thinking, and made meaningful connections to the text, all while creating their own unique and creative tree.
It was a wonderful reminder that learning doesn’t always need a screen! Sometimes, the best learning happens when students are moving, talking, creating, and thinking together. 💚🌳
