Today we put our sense of taste to the test in Kindergarten! Our little scientists tried sugar, salt, cocoa, and lemon and discussed how each one tasted.

Some were definitely more popular than others… and those sour faces were priceless! 😂🍋

We love when learning means getting to actually experience what we’re talking about!

Ms. Saxton’s kindergarten scholars had such a wonderful time sharing their very first writing project of the year with one another!

Our young authors worked through the writing process from beginning to end this week. They thought of an idea, planned their story, sketched, colored and labeled their pictures, and even practiced revising and editing before reaching the golden step: sharing their stories with a friend!

They were so proud to take their finished stories home to share with their families, and the best part was seeing how much they enjoyed writing. In fact, some scholars were asking first thing in the morning, “When is writing time?”

What a wonderful first step in becoming lifelong writers! We are so proud of our kindergarten authors! 📚✏️🐬

Mrs. Hensley’s 3rd grade scholars are putting a whole new spin on TGIF!

Each week, they will reflect on four things: something they Tried, something they’re Grateful for, something that Inspired them, and something that was Fun.

Mrs. Hensley started the conversation, and now her scholars are adding their own thoughts and reflections. What a wonderful way to celebrate the week, practice reflection, and end Friday on a positive note!

We love this idea so much that some of our other teachers and grade levels may be joining in on the TGIF fun, too! We can’t wait to see all the wonderful things our Lakeview Dolphins have to share.

TGIF, Lakeview! See you next week!🐬

Mrs. Durant’s second grade scholars were busy building their math skills today as they practiced arrays and simple addition!

By organizing objects into equal rows and columns, our scholars are beginning to see how numbers work together and how addition connects to multiplication. They’re building those important math foundations one array at a time! 🧮💙🐬

Way to go, scholars! Keep counting, thinking, and growing!

When the Wi-Fi isn’t working… sometimes it’s the perfect opportunity to unplug and learn in a whole new way!

Mr. Niyan’s fifth-grade class turned a screen-free moment into an engaging learning experience! After reading chapters from Fish in a Tree, students practiced their fifth-grade reading standards through movement, collaboration, and an outside-the-box art project. 🎨📖

Students created Character Connection Trees, where each leaf represented an answer to a text-dependent, target-related question. As they worked, students collaborated with classmates, discussed their thinking, and made meaningful connections to the text, all while creating their own unique and creative tree.

It was a wonderful reminder that learning doesn’t always need a screen! Sometimes, the best learning happens when students are moving, talking, creating, and thinking together. 💚🌳

Even a rainy and stormy day couldn’t dim the shine in Mrs. Hensley’s third grade classroom!

Today, our scholars found a little extra magic in reading with finger lights and flashlight reading! Watching them cozy up with their books and get lost in their reading was the perfect way to brighten a gloomy day.

Keep shining bright, third grade! 🌟🐬💙 We love seeing you make learning fun!
