Congratulations to USF St. Petersburg political ecologist Richard Mbatu for being appointed the latest Frank E. Duckwall Professor of Florida Studies! 🤘

The Duckwall Professorship is part of USF’s Florida Studies Program, which brings together faculty to create an in-depth exploration of the state's changing identity.

Through the three-year professorship, Mbatu will organize workshops, conduct research, and teach two classes focused on nature-based solutions for undergraduate and graduate students.

Always wonderful to welcome U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor to campus!

She stopped by earlier today to meet with student veterans and campus leadership to hear more about the vision for the new Office of Veteran Success facility that will soon be built on campus.

Rep. Castor recently helped to secure federal funding - that will add to existing state support - to expand resources, academic services, career counseling and workforce training for student veterans while creating a larger shared physical space to provide a greater sense of community.
