Our kindergarteners had a very special reader yesterday, Mr. Lockerbie, Head of School & President! 💙 He joined our youngest BlueJackets for some storytime fun, and we’re pretty sure the kids loved having him as their guest reader as much as he loved reading to them!

Our final fall sport spotlight is GOLF! 🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♀️

At Farragut, golf is about so much more than the scorecard. It’s about character, discipline, confidence, sportsmanship, and leadership, on the course and beyond.

Entering his third year leading the program, Head Coach Kyle Woodman is committed to challenging our student-athletes to reach their full potential while building a team culture rooted in camaraderie, etiquette, competitiveness, and integrity.

Joining him is Assistant Coach Anthony Lange, a U.S. Air Force veteran and experienced golf mentor who brings more than five years of coaching experience, a passion for developing young athletes, and a belief that the best practices combine structure, encouragement, improvement, and FUN! ⛳️

Together, Coach Woodman and Coach Lange are helping our golfers sharpen their skills, build confidence, support one another, and develop a lifelong love for the game.

Here’s to our Admiral Farragut Academy golfers and another exciting fall season! 💙⛳️

⛰️ Farragut grit goes to new heights! 💙

A special shoutout to Farragut alumni Matt Sokolowski ’92 and Jack Sokolowski ’23, who checked in with AFA from the summit of Mount Whitney on August 25, 2026! 🇺🇸

Together, they reached 14,500 feet, completing an incredible 22.2-mile round trip with 6,600 feet of elevation gain in just 19 hours, a true test of grit, endurance, and mental fortitude.

From trailhead to peak and back, Matt and Jack proved that the Farragut spirit travels far, and climbs high! We’re incredibly proud of what you accomplished together. 👏

Once a BlueJacket, always a BlueJacket. ⚓💙

🏃‍♀️ FALL SPORTS SERIES: CROSS COUNTRY 🏃‍♂️

Meet Coach Sandra Miller, a familiar face with a passion for helping BlueJackets go the distance. 💙💛

Coach Miller began her coaching journey at Admiral Farragut Academy in 2004, leading both the girls’ cross country and track & field programs through 2013. After nearly a decade at Seminole High School and coaching stops at Boca Ciega and St. Petersburg High School, she returned to the place where it all began in 2023.

Now in her third season as Farragut’s Head Cross Country Coach, Miller has guided the BlueJackets boys’ team to the FHSAA State Championships in each of the past two seasons. 🏆

With more than 20 years of coaching experience, Coach Miller knows that success is about more than race times. She is dedicated to developing confident, disciplined student-athletes who carry those lessons far beyond the course.

And her mentorship doesn’t stop at the finish line — Coach Miller also teaches English in the Upper School, inspiring students both in the classroom and on the course.

What a fantastic start to the 2026 golf season! ⛳💙

The Farragut BlueJackets opened the season with a team victory over CCC! 🏆

⭐ Ben Johnson led the way with an impressive 1-over-par round, including a birdie on the 4th hole.
⭐ Jack McQuaid finished 3-over par and added a birdie of his own.
⭐ Augustus Lange made an outstanding high school debut, finishing strong with a birdie on his final hole to shoot a 40!

A great first match and an even better start to the season. Keep it rolling, BlueJackets! 💙🏌️‍♂️
