Come linger for a while and enjoy the showcase of artwork that came from her two years in Florida as a Morean artist in residence and current technician. In her show, she emphasizes the certain kindness instilled in the Midwest, where there is always an attempt to hang onto more time spent together.

Originally from the Midwest, Bleu presents work shaped by her two years in Florida as a Morean artist in residence and current technician; reflecting on the kindness, connection, and community she has found here.
As Bleu shares, โa goodbye is never enough.โ Like the beloved Midwest tradition of lingering at the door just a little longer, this exhibition celebrates the conversations, relationships, and moments that make community feel like home ๐ซ
Come gather with us, spend time together, and stay a little longer before saying goodbye.

Join us in celebrating the opening reception of artist-in-residence Charles Morrison at the Morean Center for Clay as he shares his exit exhibition, "Head in the Sky, Feet on the Ground", on May 9 from 5-9pm.
Morrisonโs latest body of work reflects on how we can live in the world without fully taking on its customs or values. Inspired by the giraffe; a creature whose head reaches the sky while its feet stay firmly on the earth; he weaves together spiritual ideas, ancient mythology, and contemporary life. Through clay, as well as print, paint, and performance, he explores spiritual questions, hidden aspects of society, and the histories that shape our present.
A graduate of Saint Josephโs College in Rensselaer, Indiana, Morrison began working with clay in 2016 and has exhibited throughout the Midwest before joining the Morean Center for Clay residency in 2024. His work draws deeply from the ancient world and indigenous cultures, inviting us to remember and reflect on an ancient past.
We warmly invite you to experience "Head in the Sky, Feet on the Ground" at the MCC and support Charles as he shares this meaningful culmination of his residency.

You're invited to the stinkiest (and probably cutest) celebration in town! "Happy Birthday Stinky" by Jenny Day is on view until May 2nd ๐ ๐ฆจ
Enter a surreal celebration; a birthday party for a skunk, complete with cake, balloons, presents, pizza, and even a dinosaur piรฑata ๐ฆ๐
Dayโs latest work creates a fantastical landscape filled with an army of friendly creatures, where whimsy softens the weight of the world. While hints of reality linger; through fragments of nature and subtle signs of decay; the playful and mystical take center stage, inviting us to imagine how we adapt, rebuild, and carry on ๐ฟ๐ซ
