Starting February 22, St. Petersburg will feature a new exhibition space in Downtown, named Grafika Artspace, located at 233 3rd St N.
This initiative is led by Rauf Verdiev, director of Grafika Art School, and will be managed and curated by Javier Domenech, an artist and cultural manager from Spain, Europe.
The space will debut with the exhibition «WELCOME» on Thursday, February 22, at 6 PM, showcasing works by two local artists, Raheem Fitzgerald and Chad Pearson, alongside two European artists, Javier Domenech from Spain and Gabriela Ayza, originally from Germany and now residing in Miami.
Grafika Artspace aims to explore new exhibition formats emphasizing smaller works, enhancing the visibility of local artists in conjunction with European artists, and fostering dialogue between the two continents.
«We believe it is a good moment to create a new, visible space in an interesting area that allows us to do more risky things, creating new spaces for debate» - the organizers stated. Grafika Artspace will host a monthly program of exhibitions and will also offer activities in collaboration with Grafika Art School, including Master Classes and Workshops featuring some of the artists from the exhibitions.
