Starting to say no can feel daunting,
But it’s empowering.

Begin small:

Decline something minor today that doesn’t serve you or fit into your schedule.
Notice the freedom that comes from making a choice that honors your needs.

It’s not just about declining –
It’s about choosing YOU FIRST and your well-being.

When you know how to say no to other people you’ll make more choices to say YES TO YOURSELF.

Comment I’M READY below to make this happen today.

What has saying yes cost you?

Often, we don’t realize the price we pay when we put everyone else’s needs before our own. Overcommitting can lead to stress, exhaustion, and even resentment towards those we love. It can strip the joy from activities we used to enjoy and leave us feeling trapped in commitments we never wanted.

Today, let’s take a moment to assess the true cost of our people-pleasing habits. Recognize the signs of overcommitment and the toll it takes on your health and happiness.

Remember, every choice has a cost, and sometimes, the highest cost comes from the smallest word – yes.

If you’re ready to start saying NO and want to finally stand in your own power, then comment “no more yes” below to get started.

Recognizing our behaviors is the first step to change.

People-pleasing isn’t just about being nice; it’s often a response to deeper fears – fear of rejection, fear of conflict, or fear of being seen as selfish.

Do you find your agreeing to things out of guilt? Do you say yes because you’re afraid of how ‘no’ might affect your relationships?

Let’s reflect on these questions to uncover our true motivations behind our actions. By understanding our behaviors, we can start to make changes that align more closely with our values and desires.

This self-awareness is so important as it lays the groundwork for the transformative work ahead.

It took me years and years to finally label myself as a people-pleaser. What’s with the label, anyway? Why put a name to my habits of trying to make everyone happy?

Well, as it turns out, it wasn’t until I put a label to it that I was finally able to overcome it. Here are three tendencies that other people-pleasers and I relate to:

1. Constantly Saying Yes:
– People-pleasers often have difficulty saying no. Even when it’s not in their interest. They may agree to requests or obligations out of fear of disappointing others, even if it means sacrificing their own needs or boundaries.

2. Seeking External Validation:
– People-pleasers may rely heavily on external validation and approval to feel good about themselves (you may deny this – believe me, I was in denial for a while, too). They may prioritize others’ opinions and approval over their own feelings and desires, seeking validation through praise, compliments, or acceptance from others.

3. Avoiding Conflict at All Costs:
– People-pleasers tend to avoid conflict or disagreement, even if it means suppressing their own opinions or needs. They may go to great lengths to maintain harmony in relationships, often at the expense of their own authenticity or well-being.

Which do you relate to? What’s a tendency you might have that others can relate to? Share with me below!

Finding strength in self-love is a journey of embracing our vulnerabilities and
celebrating our unique qualities.
As we dive into this year of love, I wanted to open up and share something deeply
personal with you.

Remember that Emma Watson quote about not letting anyone dictate what you can or
cannot do?
It struck a chord with me, reminding me of a pivotal moment from my childhood that
still affects me today.

When I was younger, someone I looked up to compared me to Gollum from The Lord of
the Rings.
Those hurtful words stuck with me, fueling self-doubt and imposter syndrome for
years.

But recently, I’ve been on a journey of self-discovery and acceptance, and I want to
share a special encounter that shifted my perspective.
A good friend of mine sat me down to talk to me.
Her words challenged me to rethink how I talk to myself, sparking a journey towards
self-love.

So this year, amidst the chaos, changes, and reflection, let’s remember to treasure
ourselves just as much as we treasure our loved ones.

One of the kindest acts of self-care is to pause, breathe, and ask yourself:

What do I truly need in this moment?

Whether it’s a moment of solitude, a warm cup of tea,
or simply a deep breath of fresh
air, finding ways to meet those needs is a gentle yet powerful act of self-compassion.
Remember, it’s okay to take things one step at a time, allowing yourself the grace to
navigate each moment with kindness and patience.

So, dear friend, I invite you to join me in this practice of self-awareness and self-love.
Take a moment today to check in with yourself and ask:

What do I need right now?

And then, with tenderness and care, take that gentle step towards meeting that need.

You deserve it.
