Two grants worth knowing about this week.

$8.5M in Boulder County, Colorado for local nonprofits (housing, health, family support). Closes Aug 21.

$1.25M in St. Petersburg, Florida for mental health and wraparound care. Closes Aug 28.

Instead of making dancing baby videos, use this technology to make your days easier.

Sorting emails by hand. Answering the same question fifty times. Building the same report every month. You shouldn’t still be doing any of that.

I build small tools that handle it. All of it on an iPad, inside Google Workspace. Mostly free.

Looking to help a few small business owners and nonprofit leaders in St. Pete do the same. DM me.

Vercel got breached in April 2026. Not by a hacker breaking in, by someone clicking “Allow All” on an AI tool.

That single over-broad permission became the way in. And the only secrets that survived were the ones that had been encrypted and marked sensitive. Classification was the whole defense.

If your team uses AI tools with access to your systems, treat them like any other vendor. One consent screen shouldn’t be able to hand over everything.

I build with AI every day, and that’s exactly why this worries me. Everyone’s racing to ship new tools. Almost no one’s talking about doing it responsibly.
So I pulled the 2026 data on shadow AI, the EU AI Act, and what “doing it right” actually looks like. Every stat sourced. No hype.

ISO 42001 is the world’s first international standard for managing AI, published in late 2023. Think of it as ISO 27001 (the security one) but built for AI.

The key word is certifiable. Most “responsible AI” frameworks are just voluntary guidance you say you follow. ISO 42001 gets audited by an independent third party. Big difference.

And it’s not a PDF you file away. It requires leadership ownership, risk assessments, 38 AI-specific controls, lifecycle governance, and real audits.

Why it’s blowing up now: only ~25% of orgs have real AI governance, but 86% know regulation is coming. IBM and Microsoft are already certified. 👀

Swipe for the 90-second breakdown.
Save it for when someone at work asks “what’s ISO 42001?”

“We take responsible AI seriously.” Cool. Prove it.

The 2026 data is brutal:

→ Fewer than 20% of orgs are “very prepared” for the EU AI Act (and that number hasn’t moved in a year)
→ Only 21% have mature AI governance
→ Over half can’t even list the AI systems they already use

And the EU AI Act now carries penalties up to €35M or 7% of global turnover.

Talk officially stopped being free.

So what does real proof look like? A standard called ISO 42001, where an independent auditor certifies you actually do what you claim. IBM, Microsoft, Autodesk, and 6sense have earned it. 👀

Swipe for the full picture. Every stat sourced (Deloitte, EU Commission, Cloud Security Alliance). No hype.

45% of employees use AI on work devices.
Most of their companies have zero policy for it.

And the 2026 data shows exactly what that’s costing.
63% of breached companies had no AI governance at all.

Swipe through for what shadow AI actually costs, and what the companies getting it right do differently.

Banning AI doesn’t work. It just hides the problem. Enabling it safely is the whole game.
Every stat sourced.

Save this if you work anywhere that touches AI (so, everywhere now).
