🤓 Florida Bright Futures Facts: 💸
Florida Bright Futures recipients save from $4,500 to $8,500 per year at in-state public universities. Savings depend on the specific award tier and the institution. The amount depends on the award level and total tuition cost.
* Florida Academic Scholars (FAS): Covers 100% of tuition and fees, about $6,000-$8,500 depending on the school
* Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS): Covers 75% of tuition and fees, which equates to about $4,500-$6,375 depending on the school
The award covers tuition and fees but does not cover housing, food, or personal expenses.
Tuition at the University of Florida is approximately $6,381/year. Tuition at the University of Central Florida is about $5,954/year. That's $25,524 and $23,816 over 4 years. How much would you save with 75% Bright Futures? 100% Bright Futures?

Last Saturday, I had an incredible time sharing my SAT & ACT expertise with students and parents at the Virgil Hawkins Bar Association’s 20th Annual HBCU Jump-Off!
This year’s event provided the opportunity to meet with many incredible students: both seniors, who are off to do incredible things in just a few short months, as well as underclassmen, who continue to forge their paths toward a variety of post-secondary opportunities.
…and can I just say how much I LOVED seeing so many of my students and their parents at this event!? 🥰
I was thrilled to raffle off four fantastic prizes — a $250 book stipend, two gift baskets, and a three hour tutoring package!
…and the winners were... 🥁
Deborah Nieves, a senior at Davenport High School, won the $250 textbook stipend! 📚 She will attend the University of Central Florida in the fall to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. 🖤💛
Rianna Abukhdier, c/o 2026, who will attend Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University this fall to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences. 🧡💚 She is working towards her goal of becoming a general surgeon!
Te’Aisha Dixon is a junior at Excel Christian Academy and is working to pursue her dream of becoming a defense attorney. She plans to attend Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University in the Fall of 2027. 🐍
Lastly, the three hour tutoring package will be raffled off inside of my Facebook group tomorrow (Tuesday, 4/28) at 8PM! See you there! 🙃
