BCI's Inclusion Manufacturing Camp week four recap: That's a wrap! Our high school campers completed their PVC work cart final project the same week they visited National Cart Company to learn all about cart manufacturing.
Our experience concluded with a closing ceremony to celebrate these students' courage to step outside their comfort zone to explore and expose themselves to the world of manufacturing. Over the past four weeks, they were provided with eight onsite tours of area manufacturers, acquired new skills, applied those skills to complete a project and made a friend or two. Not a bad way to spend summer break!
Thanks to the Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs Foundation for supporting these programs nationwide to spawn an interest in manufacturing and recognize the importance of inclusive talent development.
A special thanks to all of our partners who welcomed us and brought the manufacturing industry to life!
True Manufacturing, Cambridge Air Solutions, Newco Coffee, Watlow, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Beltservice Corporation, National Cart Company, Natoli Engineering.

BCI's Inclusion Manufacturing Camp week three recap: Our high school campers started working on their final projects involving a lot of precision cutting as they built PVC work carts.
The students were busy in the community visiting several best-in-class manufacturers, such as Newco Coffee, Watlow, Cambridge Air Solutions and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Missouri, for tours and activities. These experiences provided exposure to advanced automation and augmented reality and helped impress the importance of collaboration, failing forward and safety.
Our final week is upon us; stay tuned for where we visit, what we build and closing ceremonies!

They also visited Natoli Engineering and Beltservice Corporation for tours and hands-on activities. The manufacturing world is beginning to come to life for these young men as they continue to learn valuable skills and gain real-world exposure.
Week three is packed with site tours to learn more about different Missouri manufacturers. We will also begin to apply the skills gained to work on our final camp project. Stay tuned to see what our students are building!

Meet Brandon, the first student under our inaugural BJC HealthCare vocational training program! He started the 8-week course at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital last Monday and arrived ready to learn.
