Hello Gustavus Band friends and alums!

Gustavus Bands Outreach, a student organization focused on creating service opportunities for students in our music ensembles, has created a RedBubble page with section stickers! As well as a couple recent JPMism stickers…and an HJMism! Any extra money made on these products will be going to GBO to host and create new service events for students to attend next year. The art work was all created by current and past Gustavus Band members.

Tonight is our home concert in Christ Chapel at 7:00pm and we would love to see you there! We will be performing our full tour program from our tour to Las Vegas that we just returned from this last Sunday.

GWO has had a fun and exciting last couple of days making music with high school students! First stop was Centennial High School where we had the opportunity to play with a few of their ensembles, including their jazz band! We had some free time for lunch then came back to rehearse and perform.

Bonanza High School gave us the amazing opportunity to not only perform with their students, but have them and their director perform with us on our concert. Not only were we sight reading their music, but they were sight reading ours and did such a great job!

It’s been so great being able to share our music with so many people as well as being able to share what GWO is all about.

We had a great day working with the Bishop Gorman High School Band yesterday as well as a concert last night. There was a group of Gusties who also had the chance to play with the BGHS band during their concert that happened right before ours!

After a day full of working with students at the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts, we were able to end the night at The Neon Museum…it was a blast! We walked around and saw lots of old signs and lights, as well as had a couple dance parties while on the short neon sign tour.

GWO is having a great time this morning at the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts! We can’t wait to work with more bands while we are here in Vegas. 🎼☺️

VIVA GWO!!!

Yesterday we met with composer, Dana Wilson! He got to work with one of our senior soloists, Anna Stednitz, on a work we are taking with us on our tour to Las Vegas!

In tour news, the truck was packed tonight and only two more rehearsals until we leave on Saturday! We are all so excited to get to work with so many students in the surrounding Las Vegas communities as well as the opportunity to share more music with all of you.
