Join us on September 22 at Luther Seminary or online for the Fretheim Lecture in Biblical Theology with Craig Koester

This year’s Fretheim Lecture—The Death of Jesus and the Message of Life: According to the Gospel of John—explores how, through the crucifixion, God conveys the fullness of his love for the world in order to evoke the faith that gives life. John presses us to see how God, through the death of Jesus, does indeed give life, taking us beyond popular notions of sin and sacrifice to present a more radical message.

Life in the Spirit is not a tidy game!

When Paul writes his letter to the Galatians, he is well aware of how complicated their lives have become. When those who benefit from the way things are try to shut down change, the power of the Spirit will move, says Paul, and will continue forming communities of believers.
