Winter break is a great time for a Facebook break (that may run longer than winter break) so here’s a quick look at what’s happening in January 2022 ...

School resumes on January 3rd and the following day, January 4th, is not only our first committee of the board meeting of the year, but is the date when new officers are elected, committee assignments are determined, and new board members are sworn in and celebrated. The following week school board members will participate in the annual MSBA Leadership Conference in Minneapolis. Our first Board of Education meeting is Tuesday, January 18.

Happy snowy Tuesday, neighbors! At tonight's Committee of the Board meeting there will be a presentation and discussion about an aligned high school schedule.

At 6:00pm, the board will hold a Truth in Taxation hearing. Public testimony follows the presentation.

Hey, neighbors. Project REACH is an SPPS program that supports students experiencing homelessness in our district and this year they're hosting their first ever toy collection drive. Public comment begins at 5:30pm and will last for 30 minutes. We expect it to be well-attended. Many are interested in speaking on Envision SPPS and not all will be able to do so this evening. Our third and final public listening session is scheduled for November 30. Community members are also welcomed and encouraged to write or call board members.
