Students gathered for Band Camp this week, reconnecting after the summer, welcoming new members, and building community as they prepared for an exciting year ahead!

A major focus of camp was marching, as the band gets ready for its first parade performance in many years. On September 19, the Raider Band will participate in the Autumn Daze Parade in Minneapolis.

The counseling department is hosting its annual College Application Boot Camp this week! Led by CDH college counselors Laura Nelson and Mitchell Reynolds, the program helps seniors build the knowledge, confidence, and resources they need to navigate the college application process successfully.

Michael Murray '97 is busy taking senior portraits for the class of 2027 this week and next!

Class of 2027 it is time to sign up for your FREE senior yearbook session. This will be the photo in the yearbook and on the class composite that hangs in the halls of Cretin-Derham Hall.

Appointments are available from August 3-12 and take place in room MFA101 at Cretin-Derham Hall. Here's the link to set up your appointment time:

Please send Michael Murray an e-mail ([email protected]) if you don't see a time that works or are unable to be at school during these two weeks so he can find a time to accommodate your schedule. All students who opt out of the summer sessions will be photographed during Flex once school begins. Those dates are Wednesday, September 16, Wednesday, October 7, and Thursday, October 29.

Congratulations to Kara Callahan '27 on an outstanding summer learning experience! Kara participated in the Future Physicians of America Psychiatry Course at the University of Central Florida, where she explored psychiatric diagnosis, neuroimaging, cognitive assessment, and other topics while learning from physicians and collaborating with students who share her passion for medicine.

The experience strengthened Kara's goal of becoming a neuropsychiatrist, and she's excited to bring what she learned back to CDH through the Mind Matters Club.

Great day at Mendakota yesterday celebrating our CDH community with the 2026 Raider Open. We had a blast telling old stories, celebrating our current students, and looking forward to the bright future ahead. It was a Great Day to Be A Raider! Thanks to all of our donors and golfers for their generosity. We couldn't do it without the support of this fantastic community.

Band Camp has been a great opportunity for middle school students to build skills, explore new instruments, and have some fun making music. This week has included everything from learning Taylor Swift favorites on the flute to taking on the challenge of the drum set.

Welcome home, Dr. Ben Tierney '98!

As an alumni, former faculty member, and accomplished educational leader, Dr. Tierney brings a deep connection to our mission and community. We are excited to welcome him as the new principal of Cretin-Derham Hall.
