You already know how to be a child whisperer.

But most of us were never formally taught how to partner with parents in a way that strengthens carryover without adding strain.

Early in my career as an SLP, I focused heavily on creating strong home programs.

What shifted everything for me was learning how to:
• Recognize relational barriers that quietly reduce follow-through
• Use brain-based language that builds clarity and buy-in
• Hold warm and clear boundaries when challenges surface
• Guide parents toward one meaningful next step instead of multiple competing goals

When parents feel capable in session, they are more likely to follow through at home.

When follow-through increases, child progress strengthens.
And burnout begins to ease.

In my upcoming in-person CE training at M Health Fairview, I will be teaching practical scripts and communication tools you can begin using right away.

If strengthening parent partnership is important to you, this training is designed for that.

💫 Only $90.

To the parents who showed up today:

You didn’t show up because you had extra time.

You showed up because you’re not willing to stay stuck.

You’re willing to reflect.
To adjust.
To try something different.

That’s strength.

The parents who change their homes aren’t the ones who pretend everything is fine.

They’re the ones who pause and say, “Something needs to shift — and I’m willing to lead it.”

Your kids are fortunate to have that kind of parent.

💫 If you couldn’t make it live and want access to the replay, comment REPLAY and I’ll send you the link.

You thought meltdowns were a toddler phase.

So why is your 10-year-old’s mood still running the house?

When this has been going on for years, “parenting is hard” doesn’t feel comforting — it feels dismissive.

Especially if you’re parenting ADHD or anxiety and wondering if this is just how it’s going to be.

It’s not.

Meltdowns leave clues.

There are patterns before the explosion and specific shifts that reduce volatility and increase flexibility.

That’s what we build inside Stop the Meltdowns — a live two-hour parent coaching workshop.

I’m teaching it once this year.

You’ll build your personalized Meltdown Plan step-by-step, get the template, and receive coaching on your real scenario.

Can’t attend live Wednesday at 12:30? You’ll get the replay.

The hardest part of a meltdown isn’t always the screaming.

It’s the moment after, when you hear your own voice in your head and think,
“I don’t want to be this parent.”

The snap.
The threat you didn’t mean.
The look on their face that lingers longer than the tantrum.

You’re not cruel.
You’re overloaded.

When there isn’t a clear plan, your nervous system reacts on instinct. And instinct under stress usually comes out loud.

Structure is what protects connection.
Without it, even loving parents start leading from adrenaline instead of clarity.

Stop the Meltdowns isn’t about creating a perfectly calm child.
It’s about helping you stay steady when emotions spike — so you don’t disappear inside the chaos.

You’ll learn:
• What to do first
• What not to say mid-storm
• How to shorten blow-ups
• How to lead recovery instead of escalating it

Doors are open.
February 25th. Live. Replay included.
$100.

If you’re ready to feel proud of how you show up in hard moments, this is your next step.

This is a common story…

Before:
Daily 30-minute screaming meltdowns.
Throwing things.
The whole house hostage.

After:
Maybe five minutes.
About once a week.
And mom knows exactly how to help him settle and recover.

What changed?

Not “more” consequences.
Not a new sticker chart.
Not yelling louder.

But layering the top 3 behavior calming tools in the right order.

That’s what my new workshop Stop the Meltdowns teaches you.

If your home feels tense and you’re walking on eggshells, you don’t need to suffer.

You need a plan. Prove to yourself you can do it and what happens is your kid will, too

We were in Florida.
Sunshine. Sandcastles. My parents watching.

And my son pulled back his arm and threw mud at my face in a busy beach parking lot.

The old version of me would’ve reacted fast. Loud. Tight.

But here’s what changed everything:

Meltdowns don’t come out of nowhere.
There are always five minutes before them.

And what you do in the sixty seconds after either fuels the fire… or puts it out.

That moment could have spiraled.
Instead, it lasted minutes — not hours.
It didn’t ruin our trip.

Not because I overpowered him.
Because I led.

Inside Stop the Meltdowns, I teach you the exact sequence:
• what to do in the 5 minutes before
• what not to do in the first 60 seconds
• how to shorten blow-ups dramatically
• how to prevent many of them altogether

You don’t need to be more patient.
You need a plan.

If you’re tired of walking on eggshells, this is for you.

Burnout is real in schools right now.

Challenging behaviors are rising.
Winter is long.
Temps hit -20.
Illness spreads.
Staff cover for each other while already stretched thin.
And burnout is no longer just about exhaustion.
It’s about retention. Stability. Sustainability.

That’s why Stillwater Schools brought me in for a private staff training:

“3 Essential Skills to Calm Challenging Behavior and Navigate Sensitive Parent Conversations.”

Today we’re focusing on practical, brain-based tools educators can use immediately to:
✔️ Prevent and de-escalate challenging behaviors
✔️ Respond with calm, clear leadership
✔️ Navigate parent conversations without added tension

When educators feel steadier and more supported, kids do better.
And when parent conversations feel less charged, energy can return to what matters most: connection, growth, and learning.

I truly celebrate Stillwater Schools for investing in their staff and the families they serve every day.

That kind of leadership makes a difference 💛

Last night was not about the socks.

Or the cup.
Or the homework.
Or your tone.

It was two nervous systems colliding.
And when you are exhausted and stretched thin, it is easy to shift into control mode.

Raise your voice.
Push harder.
End it quickly.

But intense kids do not calm because we overpower them.
They calm because we lead.
The shift from
“Why does this keep happening?”
to
“I know exactly what to do.”

…is about order.

Inside Stop the Meltdowns, we build that order together so you leave knowing:
• what to do first
• what to stop doing immediately
• how to shorten blow-ups
• how to prevent many of them

You do not need a dozen new strategies.
You need the right sequence.

If you want support with this, I am here ✨

Meltdowns can feel random.
They’re usually not.

They build.
And there are early signs.

If your child has daily blow-ups when something feels unfair or out of control, here’s what’s often happening:

1️⃣ The shift starts before you see it.
Overstimulation.
Transitions.
A need for control in a world run by adults.
By the time the behavior shows up, the nervous system is already overwhelmed.

2️⃣ Most of us respond by trying to make it stop.
We reason.
We rush.
We add consequences in the middle of the storm.
And that often adds more fuel to a stressed brain.

3️⃣ The two windows that matter most?
The five minutes before.
And the first minute of the storm.
Those moments change everything.

Inside “Stop the Meltdowns,” I’ll walk you through:
✔️ How to notice early warning signs
✔️ How to catch your own trigger before it escalates
✔️ What to say when emotions spike
✔️ A simple reset plan to help your child recover faster

This is practical.
Step-by-step.
Designed for intense kids and real families.

If you’re tired of the daily roller coaster and want more calm and faster recovery, I’d love to support you.

Live workshop - $100. Replay included.

This is the year meltdowns don’t run your house 💛
