Event recap: 2026 Flint Hills Family Festival
The Women’s Drum Center participated again in 2026 in The Ordway’s annual festival celebrating the artist in every child. And what a celebration it was! We loved the energy and excitement in the air throughout the entire weekend.
Volunteers from the Women’s Drum Center helped school groups and families make egg shakers to take home and led dynamic drum circles so folks of all ages could try out and enjoy drumming together in community.
Women Who Groove performance ensemble also took to the stage early in the festival for a free-to-the-public performance featuring a variety of world percussion grooves. Scroll through the photos to see a recap of the world percussion activities from the Women’s Drum Center.

Minnesota Aurora FC has a really big game tomorrow, kicking off a week filled with women's sports in Minnesota. Tomorrow, June 4, is the Women of Inspiration game day theme night and we are excited to be part of the celebration of community, women in sports, and soccer for everyone.
drumHeart and Rhythm Connection ensembles will be playing percussion grooves before the game starts. Pause on your way through the plaza to say hello and dance with us.
drumHeart has something extra special (weather permitting) planned for midway through the game. Come on out to the game tomorrow to see what we have planned and help us cheer with gusto and a big "Aurora Go!"
