Our Lower School garden is growing thanks to the hard work and care of Katie Ness '01! Over the past few weeks, Katie has been working alongside students in the garden, including planting with our kindergarteners, so they can return in the fall as first graders ready to harvest what they helped grow. A beautiful reminder of learning, community, and planting seeds for the future at MPA.

We were so glad to welcome alumni back to campus on Sunday for a special reception ahead of Sweeney Todd. It was a wonderful afternoon filled with connection, conversation, and the shared joy of being together again at MPA.

Thank you to all who were able to join us—and to those who reached out hoping to attend, we look forward to seeing you next time. It was especially meaningful to welcome back alumni parents whose past involvement in the theater program continues to be felt today. Seeing their gold keychains, representing lifetime access to free performances, was a special reminder of the lasting impact of this community.

Eighteen years after Mounds Park Academy first saw a student take the stage as Judge Turpin in "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street," a special full-circle moment brought two MPA performers together. Alum Peter Kruse '10 and Guy Schwieger ’26—both of whom portrayed the judge in their respective productions—had the chance to meet after the show. We hope these two will be present next time MPA takes on Sweeney Todd!
